BLOG ENTRY 02: EXPERIENCING THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF New York

Q For BLOG ENTRY 2, you need to post your experience visiting The Museum of the City of New York. For full credit, your blog needs to include the following information: 1) Explain your decision on how to experience the museum--in person or online. Be sure to begin with letting the readers know how you experienced the museum. 2) Provide your overall impression of either the museum (if you visited in person) or the museum's website (if you experienced the museum online) 3) SELECT ONE of the three exhibits you described on the Discussion Board Forum for Week 3. Explain WHY you selected this particular exhibit. Then, in detail DESCRIBE the exhibit and how it connects to your understanding of the history of New York City. 4) Include an image to illustrate your blog entry that connects in some way to the content of your blog. KEEP in mind that if you copy and paste an image from The Museum of the City of New York's website or any other image from a Website, YOU MUST INCLUDE A CITATION and give the photographer credit. In other words, if you did not take the photograph or create the image you need to give credit to the person who did.

I have chosen The Stettheimer Dollhouse of The Museum of the City of New York and I must say that I visited it virtually. I have chosen this very exhibit deliberately as this really stood out and I never had the opportunity to visit a museum in international shores. New York remains a dream destination for a whole lot of people and visiting the concerned museum is actually a great matter of prestige. It can be said that people living in New York City often miss out the opportunity to visit this particular museum but even though I was not fortunate enough to see it in person, I certainly enjoyed my part having visited it virtually.
